With graduation behind them and college ahead, some of best and brightest from Holy Trinity Academy’s class of 2015 came back one more time to honour their achievements.
The school handed out $48,950 worth of scholarships to the distinguished group of grads at its 2015 Scholarship and Awards evening on Oct. 8.
Bailey Diakow, winner of three awards, said the scholarships will be a big help as she now studies French and pursues an education degree at the University of Calgary.
“If you think about all the effort you’ve gone through to get them, it’s nice when you do,” she said.
Diakow said it was great to come back to the school to see her teachers and celebrate with her classmates.
For Emma Oldford, moving to Holy Trinity Academy for her Grade 12 year was proven the right move after she took home two scholarships last week.
She moved to the school from Notre Dame Collegiate in High River to be part of HTA’s band program. Oldford said it had a good reputation and she wanted to be a part of the program.
“I saw them perform at festivals and though they were excellent,” she said.
Oldford said the scholarships will come in handy as she attends SAIT, where she is taking petroleum engineering technology.
